Nathanael Nickel, MD

Dr. Nickel joined ENTAAF in 2025 after serving in the United States Air Force for 4 years at Eglin Air Force Base. He completed his undergraduate training at Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and, following this, attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed his residency training at the University of Florida in 2021 and has been proud to call Florida home for the last 9 years. Dr. Nickel is board-certified in Otolaryngology and is a member of the Emerald Coast Medical Association. Some of Dr. Nickel’s areas of interest include:

Deanna Oleske, MD

Deadly Products and Saving Lives: Medicolegal Death Investigations and Reporting to the Consumer Product and Safety Commission (CPSC)

 

Dr. Deanna Oleske is a board-certified forensic pathologist and the Chief Medical Examiner for Florida’s District 1, serving Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties. She leads a dedicated team of professionals who perform more than a thousand autopsies each year and provide around-the-clock service to a region of 800,000 residents. Dr. Oleske also serves as CEO of DOMES, the nonprofit organization that operates the office, where she has secured millions in grant funding and championed technology and family support initiatives that modernize death investigation across Northwest Florida.

She is President-Elect of the Florida Association of Medical Examiners, serves on the board of directors of the Escambia County Medical Society, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor with Florida State University College of Medicine, mentoring future forensic pathologists and physicians. Her work focuses on bridging public health, law enforcement, and community education to improve transparency and trust in the death investigation system.

When she isn’t testifying in court or advocating for forensic infrastructure reform, Dr. Oleske enjoys mentoring young persons interested in careers in forensic science and developing innovative ways to serve families through compassionate deathcare.

Emily J. Cicali, PharmD, BCPS

TOPIC:

Practical Application of Pharmacogenetics: with Case-based Examples for Depression and Pain

 

Emily J. Cicali, Pharm.D., received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, University of the Sciences in 2015. She then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Tabula Rasa HealthCare in Geriatric Personalized Medicine. After her residency, she was hired to work Tabula Rasa HealthCare at as a Research Pharmacist, as well as adjunct faculty at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, focusing on clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenomics implementation. In 2017 she decided to fully transition to academia, which led to her completion of a fellowship in pharmacogenomics at the University of Florida. Cicali is now a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research. Her clinical practice is an outpatient virtual pharmacogenetics consultation service, MyRx, and her research interests include clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics as well as further understanding the role of phenoconversion for optimal medication safety.

Andres J. Pumariega, MD

Autism Spectrum Disorder: Management in the Pediatric Office and New Consultative Supports

 

Dr. Pumariega’s career has focused on children’s mental health systems of care and underserved populations.  He is Professor and Chief, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, University of Florida. He has headed four divisions of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, three psychiatry departments, and many statewide service system programs and national committees/ organizations. He has lectured/ written extensively (over 250 publications, 250 abstracts, and 6 textbooks). He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA and AACAP, Fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists, American Orthopsychiatry Association, and World Social Psychaitry Association. His awards include Alumni Hall of Fame of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (1999), AACAP’s APA’s Simon Bolivar Award for Hispanic Psychaitry (2003), Jeanne Spurlock Award on Diversity/Culture (2007), and APA’s Agnes Purcell McGavin Award for Career Achievement in Child Psychiatry (2024). 

Georgina Perry

Navigating the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”: Impacts & Opportunities for Medical Practices

 

Georgina leads the Physician Group Services team for Carr, Riggs & Ingram. She is a CPA and CMPE (Certified Medical Practice Executive). She works with small to medium-sized medical practices of any specialization across the country. She and her team provide traditional accounting services (ie. Bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, tax preparation and planning, personal financial planning) in addition to preparing financial feasibility assessments for new practice start ups, new service line or device analysis. She also assists medical practices in operational consulting focusing on revenue cycle, staff processes, and healthcare-specific compliance. Georgina prepares insurance and government payer credentialing and contracting applications to enroll providers with payers. Her clients appreciate her ability to implement momentous changes in a friendly and professional manner. Georgina utilizes her strong accounting background and interpersonal skills to identify critical issues and gain buy-in.

Ashley Booth Norse, MD, FACEP

Domestic Violence Update

 

Ashley Booth Norse, MD, FACEP, is a Board-certified emergency medicine physician who has received numerous honors for her academic and clinical leadership and is the 149th President of the Florida Medical Association. 

Dr. Norse is a part-time professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, where she began her medical career in 2005 and most recently served as Associate Chair of Operations and Medical Director for the Emergency Department and ED Observation Unit.   

Dr. Norse earned her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville, and she subsequently completed a fellowship in healthcare policy at the University of Florida COM Jacksonville as well.

Dr. Norse and her husband, Ron, are the proud parents of three children, Hudson, Emma, and Ali.
